Vlatacom is a partner at RE-SET SUMMIT
Adria Media group in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia organized “RE-SET SUMMIT”. The summit is held from November 16-27 and it consists of 8 online conferences. Vlatacom Institute is a partner in the summit and one of its employees Professor Zoran Banjac Ph.D. participated in the panel Telecommunication Infrastructure for the New Digital Investment Agenda. The fundamental topics throughout the summit are: regionalization, green economy, innovation and localization, digitalization and tourism.
DIGITALIZATION – Transforming Products and Processes – presented on Thursday, 19.11.2020 through 3 panels. Jorgovanke Tabaković, Governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), opened the conference. Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the Offices for Information Technologies and Electronic Administration, explained the effect of the digital agenda on the economy, innovations in products and processes which are expected, and also the changes that will happen in regards to the relationships with end-users.
Participants in the first panel, Telecommunication Infrastructure for the New Digital Investment Agenda, were: Prof. Zoran Banjac, Head of Crypto Department at Vlatacom, Miloš Cvetanović, Secretary of State, Minister of Commerce, Tourism and Communication, Vladimir Lučić, Coordinator for Internet and Multimedia for Telecom Group Serbia, and Goran Ličanin, CDO and Industry Development and Ecosystem Director for Cloud & AI, Huawei CEE & Nordic Region.
Zoran Banjac highlighted the challenges in the field of information security which arise as a result of rapid technological development (digitalization and digital transformation). One of the main points is the problem with the degradation of privacy and secrecy from the perspective of individuals and businesses. Discussions were held regarding the need to raise awareness for individuals and businesses as to the importance of the meaning of protection, the potential dangers and needed measures which must be taken to reduce the risk to an acceptable minimum. Vlatacom’s encryption solutions were presented and the importance for the end-user to be aware of the nature of the protection solutions and to have the ability to control such solutions.
Miloš Cvetanović presented Serbia’s plans for digitalization and the introduction of broadband internet across the entire republic, including the rural areas. Vladimir Lučić spoke about the key role of Telecom Group Serbia in building the telecommunication infrastructure throughout the Republic as well as previous activities involving the introduction of an optical network and increasing the number of 4G base stations. He also spoke about the plans to introduce broadband internet. Goran Ličanin pointed out the importance of investing in the telecommunications infrastructure, its effect on the economy, increased research development and the expected rise in the GDP. He presented the plans of his company going forward.
